I'd like to replace the vinyl shift and e-brake boots with leather ones. I'd also like to keep the panther black (dark grey) color. For those who have installed the BMW MINI leather boots how do you like them? Is their a big difference in the apperance of the leather compared to the stock vinyl ones? Is the leather soft and thick? Any pics (especially of the Panther black)? Thanks for everyones help. I would order them from my dealer and make a decision once I see them but since it's a special order I wouldn't be able to return them.

Just got the redline leather ones in the mail today, charcoal with green thread. I plan on putting them on tomorrow, seem to be quality. Will post when I'm done. Oh yeah, one question, anyone know how to do this??

While I don't have the panther interior, mine is the Lapis Blue, the leather boots for the stick shift and e-brake are great. I think the whole interior is brought to a higher level. For the money, the BMW/MINI sourced kit is good value.

Here's a photo of 2 tone blue leather interior with blue shifter and e-brake boots, along with blue e-brake handle and MOMO SPHERE shift **** with blue leather insert.

Kumquat78,
How does the charcoal leather from Redline compare to the color of the stock vinyl boots? Does it match the interior or is it to light of a gray?
Thanks for your help.

actually, a little darker then the stock ones. Thicker though, seems like it may hold up better, now to install them.....

We installed the MINI Lapis Blue boots like davecsumini did. We also recently received a set of aftermarket boots for a friend. The biggest difference is the MINI version come pre-installed on new plastic rings (the part that clips into the console) whereas the aftermarket boots do not. You will need to remove the old boots from their plastic rings and fit them onto the new leather boots.

We are not sure how difficult this will be... :???:

The Lapis Blue MINI boots were ordered from Classic Mini.

...and the ebrake boot:

We will be offering a Leather Ebrake and Shift **** boot set in about 3 weeks. This was a test sample that we reviewed and did an install how to.

Enjoy!

I got the factory leather boots installed and love them. They look a ton better because they aren't that vinylly shiny, unflexable stuff. They are soft, thick, and match the interior. I say get them.
