Interior/Exterior Centering the FMIC (looks, not drivetrain!)
Centering the FMIC (looks, not drivetrain!)
So as we know, some of the FMIC's are mounted slightly off center, due to OEM mounting points of hoses, eg my Helix fmic.
The nice part about it is for mounting/installing, theres no need to cut any trim pieces, but thinking about it, if I cut the portion shown attached (driver side hose location, photo credit to Alta), would it allow the helix to be centered?
I'm trying to fine tune my open lower grill setup on the JCW Aerokit with brake ducts currently, and an off center end tank is kinda bothering me.
I know this isn't exactly "interior/exterior" per say, but its dealing with exterior looks, so, I think it applies. haha

don't have pics, but i could take some this weekend.
its basically the frame of the grill thats still there, with the border of the brake ducts intact. Once you actually see how the ducts are mounted on the grill, you'll understand. The clips of the duct attach to the grill, not to the car. So, you have to cut out and shave the honeycomb out/down to make it all flush. I got creative and cut a piece of small diameter rubber hose to finish the edge around the brake duct inner sides. As, when I originally cut them, they were very noticably not-straight.
