Clear bra / paint protection recommendations?
I'm looking for advice on clear bras - who here actually has a clear bra installed on their car? What product did you use - 3M, xpel, other? DIY installation, or professionally installed?
Also curious about how the film is applied - how are gaps/emblems/hood scoops handled? For instance, does a front bra cover the MINI emblem and scoop, or is the film cut out to accomodate those features? It seems like it would look wierd if the protection film was spanning the gap beteen the scoop and the hood, or if it was raised to cover the front emblem. Maybe I'm just lacking imagination...
Thanks everyone!

One more question related to coverage - do the different paint protection kits also cover the grill trim and headlight rings? On the one hand, it would be nice to protect them, but on the other, it would be nice to have the option to swap out headlight rings and grill trim without destroying the paint protection film.
I have a 3M clearmask kit installed on my '10 Clubman S. I work at a dealership so I had the guy who does all our cars do mine. How it is done is different based on the kit/installer. Some have whole hood kits while some are just the normal front end(where you would see a leather bra stop). Ill throw up some pictures tomorrow and show you.
Normally for every gap they have a separate piece for that section. My hood scoop has its own piece. I was told that with racing stripes it can cause the clearmasked part of the stripe to look like it has a clear coat shine to it, making it different than the rest of the stripe further up. Also they do cut around the emblem normally.
I'm not sure what you mean by grill trim but i know my headlight rings aren't clearmasked. Mine are chrome. There is also an option for clearmasked your fog lights/headlights but I felt that wasn't needed.

Thanks for the info.
By grill trim (and headlight rings) I basically meant any of the chrome that would be found on the front of the car. I'm thinking about painting mine at some point and I wanted to know if a clear bra would complicate/prevent removal of those pieces.
Thanks again for the input.
