custom wheel caps

I got some Motegi MR125 wheels for christmas and i love 'em. So while i love the wheels i lost one of the center caps - after looking at Tire Rack for a replacement (at $15 +shipping not a bad price) i was ready to order. While walking through work i saw we had some scrap 1/4" plate aluminum and lightning struck - i'll make my own!

So a few hours drawing up the design and machining the pieces on the CNC router - a little paint and clear coat - i have some pimpin' new wheels!

sorry for the crapy picts - but you get the idea:

here are the original caps on the wheels

and a shot of the work in progress - just for kicks:

what do ya'll think?? i'm really happy with how they turned out.

I'm impressed.

At the right price, I bet you could sell a ton of this and other designs for a variety of different wheel brands.

Run up the flag!

Cheers...

I'd love to have a set for my Enkei WMD's. The black union jack would fit my other black union jack items.
Very nice work.

Very Nice. Too bad you couldn't attach them with out screws/screws..
I assume there is a hole under there. Anyway to CNC them down to press fit in??
Maybe add something on the backside to safety wire it on or something..

The socket head cap screws that are holding it on are the ones that came with the original caps - i was going to get a low profile button head screw so it doesn't stick out at much - i might even paint the heads of the screws...

Maybe countersink the holes for the bolts so they are flush. Otherwise it looks good.
