So this chick ran a red light. . .

I almost avoided her in the intersection but I didn't have enough room to stop. My poor baby's front end took a hit. The grill & bumper need to be replaced.

I'm going to change the run flats out as well. I'm dropping it off at Bay Bridge/Clean Green Collision in Oakland tomorrow. . . . Suggestions for mods? I really need help with the tires as well.

I have the chrome line package (which I'm not crazy about) Black bonnet stripes and a black roof. Everything is factory OEM. Hubby wouldn't let me get the sports package (or a manual transmission! ) so I have 16s.

Mod 1 - Get rid of Hubby so you can get the car you want with sports package and manual trans

Mod 2 - Anything you would like

Tires Check out TireRack.com there are a lot of good tires out there ranging in price from $90 to $300+ all depends on what you want. Also a good place to research this is in the Tires, Wheels & Brakes section. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...and-brakes-36/

Throw an upgrade intercooler and piping while they have it open. Just saying. Possibly add JCW aero kit?

As far as tires it has been posted already Tirerack. Also the types of tires you are looking for depends on what you want out of them. Mileage and performance are like an equation you can only have so much of both.

Hubby wouldn't let you get the Sport Package or a Manual????? You have to be kidding me. Unless my wife plans on driving my car all the time, I'm going to get whatever the hell I want (within reason $$$$). Now, if it's a financial issue, I can understand, but you should be able to choose what you drive.

Get the JCW front bumper and grill. Get the Continental Extreme Contacts. Just got them and LOVE THEM. Can of Fix-a-flat is only $8. The quiet and improved quality of the ride is well worth getting rid of the runflats.

Thanks guys . . . I know, I know, I should've stuck to my guns. I was a little fuzzy because I was pregnant. It wasn't even a financial issue! A manual is cheaper than automatic plus it's more fuel efficient. The savings could have paid for the sports package. He thought it would be a stiff ride but come on now. . .we had RFs on the car! The other point was that neither of us knew how to drive manual. Anyway, now, I'm doing all the mods I want.

I dropped off the car today and yes! yes! Yes! I'm definitely getting the JCW grill with black trim. They're going to get back to me on the price of the JCW aero kit but I'm giddy over how it's going to look: MEAN.

Good luck with all the repairs and new mods. And enjoy the car what ever it becomes.

Whoa...Not to pile on, but the first thing you need to buy is a time machine. Get inside with your hubby and change the year from 1940 to 2011. Then you can discuss it with your husband and get whatever you want.

First ditch the "Hubbie", then ditch the run-flats.

Since you're driving a Clubby you can get a real (donut) spare tire and fit it in the spare tire well in the back. That's what I did.
Look here: http://www.detroittuned.com/shop/?productID=504

I would agree with Porthos that now would be an excellent opportunity to replace your hot & cold side charge pipes. Do the intercooler also if you have a spare $700 laying around but the charge pipes are a must do.
Look here:http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop..._tube_kit.html

or here:http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...arge_pipe.html

and also here:http://www.outmotoring.com/mini-coop...arge_pipe.html

I would also agree that you should look at the Conti DWS and also the DW's depending your local weather conditions. They would be a good place to start. I have the Michelin PS A/S+ which is another excellent tire. Look around a bit.

Also, since you're replacing your front bumper cover anyway... you can order the JCW Aero front bumper cover by itself without having to buy the whole JCW Aero Kit! You can then add the other JCW AREO KIT pieces later if you want. I mention this because your insurance carrier will likely not pay for the full JCW Aero Kit but they will pay for a front cover.

Once you get this done you can then start some real "Mods"

Good Luck

I was just thinking... If your stock intercooler is smashed anyway I would definitely replace it with an aftermarket unit.

If so I have this one, look here:http://www.helix13.com/2nd-gen-mini/engine-exhaust/#go

Or here:http://www.forgemotorsport.com/conte...oduct=FMINTR56

Or here:http://www.altaperformance.com/produ...nt-Intercooler

Once again Good Luck!

If you were to get a new FMIC I believe the Helix group buy is still open:

I don't think guys in the 1940s changed diapers. . . or always did the laundry (I've never had to do a load. . . ever.)

Thanks so much for all the links! We've gone ahead with the JCW bumper. The cost to add the side skirts wasn't worth it.

These upgrades will be on next on the list. I've been a bit disappointed with the engine performance. . . I wonder if this is what's been the car back. Will this increase fuel efficiency as well?
