$10 DIY air diverter!

So, I love DIY mods, and the cheaper the better!

Anyway, my JCW MCS didn't come with a stock air diverter (no idea why the previous owner took it off...). So, after seeing a random pic on the Internet, I went into home depot and bought a 12"x12" AC vent for home use.

This thing fits EXACTLY on the intercooler! The vanes on both line up as if the vent were made for this car!

All you do is tim the vent to match the width of the intercooler, trim, remove paint, and bolt the thing on! Photos soon!

also, im going to paint this thing, bc, after it being on for a day, im seeing rust. i thought i was aluminum at first, but, obviously not :P

so, ill be using some "grill" paint, that high heat resistant stuff. id really like to get a mini or a JCW badge or something to put on there... make it look more "official"

Astro, why not use engine paint from any auto parts store?

Look around online, I am sure some sort of badge would come up. I was thinking the stock exterior badge but I don't know how that will do under heat - I haven't inspected one enough to see the materials.

I have the high heat grill paint available... No point in spending money if it's not needed.
