Looking to buy an aftermarket armrest from fellow nam er,
I have a 2002 mcs. He is selling the whole armrest/door grip, so can just bolt on without having to remove the covers which I've read is a bear.
The doorgrip/armrest module thingy is from a 2006

will his 2006 armrest door grip bolt onto my 2002 doors?

I would think so. They are both R53s, and I don't think the door pulls changed much by year. I'm not 100% positive though... You might want to find both in Real OEM, and see if they match up.

 

Are you talking about the entire door card, or some subset of the door card? The card will fit on a 2002, but if he's just selling the grip/armrest, you'll need to disassemble your current door card (attached with plastic rivets), then reassemble it and reconstitute the plastic rivets or glue it. The door card is attached with plastic snaps, nothing 'bolts on'.

 

thanks, I believe it is the armrest and grip that sit inside of the door card.
I'm not interested in changing the actual "surround" on the card since it matches my dash.
