Ribbed for Motoring Pleasure !
For while been wondering what part No. 5 below was. Figured it was some cheap Radio Shack chrome spring thing so the antenna would flex when in contact with the JCW wing.
I have seen my share of MINI's with this wing, but none had this addition to their antenna. So I figued what the heck, order one up and see what the heck it was....
Well, turns out it's is used to adjust the angle of the antenna. Inside there is a set screw allowing it to angle forward and back. It has a removable rubber ribbed cover like a CV boot which slides over it once the set screw is tightened.
Stock antenna's are ok, but seemed too long, and while I always liked my Outmotoring antenna, just wished it was a bit longer....So this part No.5 put it right into the ball park where I wanted it.
