Okay, okay... burned again. When will I learn? I bought some aftermarket tail lamps and they showed up rather quickly. I went to install them and guess what? No reverse light, just a stop light and a blinker. Now I can't use them and returning them looks like it will be a nightmare. Oh well, a word of warning, stay away from the ebayers for auto parts, this is the 2nd and last time I'm biting that hook.

Older R53's had the reverse light in the bumper. Maybe you chose the wrong year? What did the listing say?

Anyway, cheer up, maybe there's someone on the Marketplace here who has the reverse light in the bumper and would buy them from you?

 

They aren't all bad. I bought some custom made rear control arms from a guy on ebay and they arrived fast and the build quality is excellent. He owns a MINI himself so I doubt he's looking to rip off fellow MINI drivers.

 

Don't hate on all eBay products. I bought tail lights, and head lights and they both have been holding up for almost 2 years now. My R53 has the reverse in the bumper and it's an 03, not sure when they changed that but definitely check your specs! But at the same time, you get whatcha pay for. Certain things are worth the money ex. intercooler, pulleys, etc. But other things I wouldn't mind eBay'ing like a cooling fan or PS pump fan. Just depends on what it is and what the price is.
