Factory Armrest Installation

I've just completed the installation of the factory armrest successfully. I ordered all necessary parts from Online-Teile in Germany as I am located in Europe.

I ordered all the parts listed in RealOEM for the retrofit, including the screws and additional clips for the main console (good choice, as I broke one).

I did not remove the central console completely, just lifted it up and unclipped the handbrake gaiter from it.

All was good apart from one thing: The handbrake gaiter will just not sit as properly as it used to in the central console. I traced the problem down to the new undercarriage: it has two small teeth (like clips), which interefere with the gaiter.

Has anyone also faced the same issue? The original undercarriage does not have those teeth at that point.

OK, Fixed it! I just used some cutting pliers and tore off those two teeth. The gaiter now sits properly as it should. I don't know what there purpose was in the first place, it could probably have to do with the telephone craddle wires?
