Does anyone know if I can order just the xenon bulbs and the ballasts (the MINI original parts) and install them in my normal headlamps?

I really want to upgrade to Xenons (not available in regular Coopers in Mexico) but I don´t want my warranty to be voided, so the only solution I thought was ordering the parts. Don´t want to change the whole headlamp assembly as the cost would be prohibitive, and theorically this would not void my warranty, right?

What kind of bulbs do Xenon MINIs have? I know regulars have h7s

thnks

I believe that the answer is no...at least not legally. You may have different laws in Mexico, but in the US, the leveling motors (and I think even the washers) are required in order to make the car w/Xenons D.O.T. legal. Xenons are more than bulbs. They're actually entire systems that require the rest of the mechanicals to be properly adjusted and road legal.

Of course, if you just want the bulbs and ballasts, there are places that will sell you aftermarket bits...and you're responsible for the legality yourself. Check out "XENON" as a search term here on NAM.

BTW, installing something on your car that was not supposed to be on the car originally would possibly still void your electrical-system warranty claim...if the dealer was not of a mind to honor your claim. The fact that the added parts might be MINI parts wouldn't necessarily help you. Just a thought for what it's worth.

A long sit down with your MINI parts guy may help clarify this, but my guess is that this isn't going to be feasable.
