Lamin-x Gunsmoke covers effecting Xenon's brightness

Is anyone else having this problem? I just put my Lamin-x Gunsmoke headlight covers on yesterday and tonight while driving I felt like I didn't have my headlights on at all. Does this go away after they set? I am super disappointed because I love the way they look on the car, but if I can't see then it's a done deal. Thanks

Does it really surprise you that putting a dark filter over the light source affects the brightness of the output?

Had a feeling...that's why I went with tint...which is a light gray, and I hardly notice a light depreciation.

If there is some cloudiness, it'll go away within a couple of weeks, sun warmth is your fried. Same for any little bubbles.

Thanks! I really like the way the tint looks. I think I'm going to try that out instead. I'm really new to all this so I am learning as I go along.

I have the blue tint ones on mine, love the way it looks. No difference in light out put at all with these.

I have Gunsmokes on my headlights and yes they do diminish the light but I liked the way they look so I deal with them. After a while you don't even notice. I just make sure to turn on my foglights during really bad weather, but in general it's not a big deal. You may get tickets for them though, but that all depends on your area.

Anything over the lights will diminish the lights output. Also don't be surprised if you get pulled by the man. Most states do not like you covering or tinting the lenses that cover your lights at all.

On they way to Williamsburg the past weekend there a new body style VW Passat with its tail lights tinted. You could barely see the brake lights when he braked. The State Trooper who pulled him was not pleased I imagine...

i had the gun smoke tint over my headlights with hid's and the diminishing of the light output was minimal. it was nothing major. Im sure the stock xenons are bright enough to not notice much of a difference.
