Remove Lower Bumper Grill Trim

I'm in the process of de-chroming my JCW Clubman, but I cannot figure out how to remove the chrome trim on the lower bumper. Every post I find is about the trim on the upper grill. Plus I can't seem to find a picture of another MINI with this trim! See the below picture. If anyone has recommendations on how to remove this piece would be greatly appreciated.

Properly, it has to be done from the inside.
You have to remove the bumper skin and "unclip" the lower grill from the back.
Pisser, isn't it?

I just bought a 2011 Hampton. I mounted 4 Hella 500 black magics on the front the upper grill. Now I do not have room to mount my grill badge. Do I have to remove the front bumper skin on a 2011 R55 also.
