Removing side mirror caps

I and another Mini owner want to sway our mirror cover caps.

Has anyone removed the outside mirror caps. All I know is use a screw driver and pry and be careful not to scratch the covers.

pop out mirror glass by prying and carefully release the five or six clips in side the housing

thks for the info , I was able to remove the caps by sliding and prying with a plastic knife around the frame and was able to remove the caps without damage.

THIS is how many have cracked their side mirror glass!!!
