CF interior

I saw a post that a shop in China use original part wrap by CF and clear coating on top.The total cost is about $2000USD, they look great, was wondering if anybody can do in US or Canada.

I know there is a place that can do it here in the states because some Honda people use them. I'll have to find out.

That's a lot of money for some fake CF though. But to each his own. Let me see if I can find it.

How is it fake? Its real CF, just layed on oem trim pieces.

CF speedo trims as well as the air vents can be had on eBay. Expensive though.

I assume he meant since it's just a CF veneer you're just doing it for the look, rather than for the weight savings and other benefits of "real" CF.

Check out roguese7ens.com/photos
He's done a lot of Mini parts in carbon. You can email Jim at info@roguese7ens.com. I've used him for a lot of parts and have been very satisfied.

Real cf parts need to be molded and such. Most CF pieces are cf weave (which is real) but laid over and then have that "veneer" over it.

Essentially it's just like applying cf looking vinyl and then putting a clear coat over it.

Real cf pieces are expensive and very hard to produce. The baking process has gotten better but it still results in slightly deformed pieces sometimes.

CF weave that you just add epoxy resin to and let dry is still "real cf." Is it going to have the perfect resin-to-cf ratio? No. Is it going to have the highest possible specific strength? No.

That said, it's still going to have a great strength/stiffness-to-weight ratio and look cool, too, if that's your thing.
