I'm not sure if I'm even asking in the right place, but I'll ask anyway.

This wheel was on my 07 R56 MCS, when I first brought it to the dealer for an inspection the service tech mentioned that the wheel is not an original part to the car, something about it being a Euro model. We were curious and pulled it off and typed in the numbers on the back and it didn't come up in the system. He said it's a Euro or Canadian wheel.

Anyone have any thoughts on this? It works as it should, I just replaced it for the sport 3 spoke wheel.

 

Its the standard wheel for the UK market, not sure about the rest of Europe.

Its a horrible wheel. I had it on my last car here in the UK. You guys are lucky you dont get it.

 

In Western Europe this steering wheel is installed on the most simple versions like One. Very cheap and ugly compared to the same on MCS.

MINI First
MINI ONE
MINI Cooper
MINI Cooper D

the three spoke wheel is an option with all of the above models.

 

Without trying to be pedantic, but that isn't quite a standard wheel on the models mentioned above! The standard ones are infact plastic, and in my opinion the worst steering wheel in the world; These however are extraordinarily rare, as most people get the Leather Upgrade (as shown in pics above) as part of Pepper Pack onwards. Chili or Sport would get you the regular 3 Spoke. They do sometimes appear on S' too, as they were standard fare on those pre-facelift.
