Interior/Exterior lower dash removal
lower dash removal
I have a 2006 mcs and I want to remove or hinge (it appears to be hunged on the bottom) the dash section underneath the steering wheel so I can cleanly run gauge wires. I can't see any screws or anything that would allow me to remove it and other threads talk about removing the whole dash. Thanks
This is from "A girls guide" how-to ----
Pull down on the knee bolster on the driver's side. To do this, you simply grab the plastic with both hands, in the opening right below the steering column. Give a firm yank downwards, and the bolster will swing down. It is scary at first, because you have to pull kind of hard, but it's OK to do!! YOU WILL NEED TO BE CAREFUL IF YOU HAVE DRIVING LAMPS INSTALLED - when the bolster swings down, it may pull the wires leading to the switch for the driving lamps - so be careful!

Thank you...I was pulling on it to the point where I thought I might break something so I figured id come check to make sure there weren't any hidden bolts that had to be removed first. Seems simple enough.
