Euro armrest and Nav

I'm ordering a Clubman with Nav, which required the selection of the center armrest. Is there any reason that I can't swap out the factory armrest for the Euro one? I'm not sure why the armrest is required for nav, would there be a USB port or other wiring inside the rest that would prevent a swap?

You've already reached the correct conclusion. The armrest is wired for stowage of your smart phone (iPhone specifically). This is integral to the "connected" function of the new system. Thats why it's required. I suppose if a person was resourceful enough, that wiring could possibly be relocated.

oh ok thanks, do you find that your factory armrest slides when you don't want it to, or does it stay in place ok?
