R53 interior mods

I understand that some company in England sells converters made to fool the air bag electronics located under our stock seats that control the air bag activation/dash light. Installing these little black boxes fools the system so aftermarket seats can be installed without the dash light staying on. Can someone provide me with the contact information for that company/

This is the Second Gen Section and as such covers R56, R55 and R57. You would get a better response in the First Gen Section.

You Do NOT NEED TO SPEND $$$ to do this....all you need is a .02$ resistor...just bridge the gap in the now free wiring harness, and the car will still think the airbag/Seat is there. Do a quick search...I think it is a 4 Ohm resistor. It must be exact, or you WILL get a light.
A few places used to sell them...a few of the vendors might have the info on how to do it if you have a good working relationship.
And remember...when you buy European stuff...the shipping can be spenddy...but add the VAT tax to the total...so the price you pay will likely be 50% than you expect on a small item.

ZippyNH, are you saying the VAT is added to exports, or to subtract the VAT from the price? I haven't purchased anything recently from across the pond, but in the past the VAT wasn't charged.

Sorry I meant to say 50% more...the shopping and the VAT.....but the thinggy you are looking at is commonly done...not in a kit form....but it is done here. Like I said...a resistor is added...and it is done.
One thing to be careful of...if you power on the car while the seats are unplugged, the light will need a tool to reset.
The convince if the correct resistor on a plug is worth something...but I would not pay too much extra for it!!
Since most readers here are in the US+Canada...one of the euro boards might be a good place to post...
Somebody might know though....
