Interior/Exterior Scangauge II Issues: New Install
Scangauge II Issues: New Install
Thanks to SBARTON's outstanding posts, I have been able to get everything working except the MAP function and the related boost/vacuum function. (I managed to get the horsepower function [HP] to work, so I think I understand how to program the "higher" functions.)
However, MAP, a "standard" function, simply does not display any numbers on my unit. This apparently needs to work in order to determine the last two characters of the MTH line to then get the PSI (boost) function to work.
(I tried pushing the ign button w/o depressing the clutch, as suggested, but the MAP function does not display any numbers. Nor does it display any numbers at any other time, either. It just says "MAP")
The other issue is that I can't seem to get it to switch to "fast" speed. It stays in "normal" speed despite it being in CANSF mode.
Thanks,

Do a hard reset of the scangauge, and try again.
You should have no issues getting MAP to work. Have you tried to program the boost display?
Also, you can only have 1 of a parameter displayed at a time. Say if you have programed a Xgauge as MAP, and called it PSI, and you try to display it and MAP, you only get one. (at least that's how I think it works.)

Well, I just disconnected the SCII at the OBDII plug, waited a couple minutes and tried again. However, all the MAP function does is display "MAP". No numbers or other characters appear. I also tried displaying it in all of the four positions, one at a time. It makes no difference. I also made sure that the functions displayed in the "other" positions were only the "standard" ones. (I also drove the car around, no change.)
I am mystified because all of the other "standard" functions work. Plus, I was able to get the "higher" HP function to work with the advanced programming. I just can't get "boost w/o MAP" to work because this apparently depends on MAP working.
BTW, what does the MAP function normally display next to the letters, "MAP"?
Any more suggestions?

Are you trying to read a MAP value with the ignition in the on position or with the car running.? My 2009 JCW will not register a MAP value unless the car is running. If you're just trying to get an atmospheric value for the boost X gauge, just Google your elevation where you live or where you'll be driving the most and use that pressure (14.7, 14.6,etc).
Thanks for you reply.
I have been driving. It only displays "MAP". No values are displayed regardless of the position on the screen. (See my post details. I would not expect a vacuum/boost figure w/o the motor running.)
I tried a Google search for atmospheric pressure for my area (Boston, MA) but did not find anything with units close to 14.7. What is the correct search criteria?
Do you suggest something other than CANSF?
Thanks again,
