Interior/Exterior Sliding armrest fix
Sliding armrest fix
I have an R56 with the optional US armrest. It kept sliding back when I didn't want it to.
Attached is a picture of a fix I made with a 1" X 2.5" X .1" piece of aluminum (painted). The "latch" is off-center so that you can turn the "handle" 90 degrees to open it. Gravity holds it in the latched position. The screw is a #6 self-tapping type threaded directly into the plastic. It works great and actually looks better in the car than the picture would indicate.
