Seat cover recommendation

I just picked up a new Clubman and regretfully went with a leatherette in stock model. My previous car was a 325i with full leather and I find the leatherette to be incredibly warm and uncomfortable. Can anyone recommend a decent looking solution, preferably a darker color seat cover that will fix this problem? Nearly anything has to look better than the towel I am using now. Never again going with leatherette, what was I thinking.

Also looking for good quality carpet/mat recommendations.

I have heard good things about the leatherette. Wish I had gone with it as the leather does not hold up vey well in the MINI. Turn your A/C on and they will cool off.

I have the Wet Okole seatcovers and love them. I have a convertible and they keep me from having to flip the seats forward to avoid scorching my butt and legs in the summer.

I have the rubber mats and love them too. Great for bad weather and clumsy co-pilots!

AC was cranked to 62 degrees for 5 hours and the seat was still uncomfortable, even sitting on a towel. It was very humid. The problem is that this vinyl doesn't breath.

Man I love my Pleather seats, I think this is more a body/personal issue than the seats. If you do get covers make sure they are easy to take off, sounds like you are going to need to be able to take them off quick and wash the sweat out!

Are the leatherette/cloth/leather punch front seat the same shape, and are R56 and R57 seats the same? I want to order these from Japan but want to make sure they fit:

Lots of options

Age old favorite, Lambskins. Autosport still does them. Big bucks. They breath really well.

I don't like leather and went cloth. I may put on the Okole just to have a removable, washable seat. Shampooing seats in place is a pain. I have seen them on several cars and they seem to fit very well.

Have a shop replace the seat insert with cloth. It will run about 500 per seat.

If you live in certain parts or the US and have a certain outlook on life, you buy "saddle cloth" seat covers from JCW. 'bout $20. Worth half that.

BMW seems to like plastic. I was looking at a 1 series. Plastic or leather. No cloth available. Sorry, for 35,000 I expect to get it the way I want it. Of course, BMW does not care what we want.

Just realized. TWO uses or JCW here. Works, and the other one. J.C. Whitney.

Really?

That's the first time I've heard that. Mine seems to be like new, but then its only a year out of the factory.

Do I need to do anything to protect it?

I live in Florida -- sunny here. I've not noticed any sort of unusual heat issue with the seating material. I do avoid the metal parts (seat belt buckle -- ouch). I've put the reflective sunroof covers in for the summer and they make a great deal of difference down here.

But now I'm concerned with my leather seats.

If you want LEATHER then go with Katzkins and have them completely re-done.

Nice stuff, but a grand! I know, that is actually a very fair price for quality work. Besides, the point we are making is that we don't like plastic and leather. Hot-sticky or cold and slippery. I want tough and breathable. Ultrasuede and twill.

Feed the leather. MINI should tell you what kind of tanning they used which tells you what kind of treatment. The old standby is to clean with saddle soap and then "Hide Food". I do not know if that is proper for the modern silicone based tanning and finishes. Might call up Griot's and see what they say. One thing I bet has not changed. Once human skin oils get in, or the sun dries it out, it is gone. Never let your skin sit on the leather. We are just too toxic.

Pilotart .... So you placed the 4" of 5# memory foam onto the seat and then stretched the wet okole covers over it .... correct? It does look like a very nice job.
