Aesthetic Creations?

Has anybody purchased anything from aestheticreations.com lately? Looks like they've got some of the best stuff for MINIs, but I haven't been able to get a return email to my questions. Their vendor page hadn't had a new post in over a year until yesterday and it's quite negative. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...uct/315/cat/17

I'm wondering if they've fallen victim to the recession?

They were at the Dragon doing a booming business. I have purchased a full roof decal from them and two sets of a-panel decal without problem.

They make good stuff -- Just do not run the biz very well --- call the telephone # --- They always get back -- and ship eventually --- but you will be happy when you finally get the stuff.

I purchased their whole black out kit. It took a little while to get here due them not having it on stock and them only doing orders as per request. But Im satisfied with their goods. They kept in contact with me the whole time and let me know what was going on with each part step by step.

I tried ordering graphics from Mike last summer, when he was offering a discount over the July 4th holiday weekend. I placed the order over the phone, and warned Mike that I was impatient, and wouldn't be happy if the custom graphics took over 2 months. He assured me that it would not take that long.

You can guess what happens next. Three days before my 60-day "credit card dispute window" closes, I email Mike, who so far hasn't so much as provided a mockup of the graphic. I get back the standard "you're impatient" email (no kidding, I WARNED you I was). So I turned the matter over to Visa, along with a stack (22 pages) of emails, testimony from my wife (listening in on the original call), etc. It took 4 more months to resolve, and get my charges reversed. Total time wasted: six months.

If that's acceptable to you, then by all means work with him. I can't recommend him, based on my experience.

They're quick on the stickers and vinyl, but horribly slow on the molded parts and customer service. I ordered my molded emblems and door handles on April 17th and finally got them in the mail a couple of days ago. Hannah even told me the door handles take 10 minutes to mold so I don't know why customers wait 2 months when there are only 30 orders for molded parts. They look awesome from 10 feet away but up close they are far from perfect. The edges are so rough and there are scratches all over the top of the parts. I have to repaint them myself to get them to look good. On the door handles, a good 1/4" of chrome shows around the edges so they send you about a foot of black vinyl to cover it up. On my emblems, the chrome still shows all the way around, and even if I wanted to cover that with vinyl, they didn't send me nearly enough.

So like I said, they're a good company if you want some stickers or stripes or anything with a vinyl printer, but not so good with molded parts. Yeah, they're the only company doing it and I give them lots of credit for that, but I wouldn't buy any more molded parts from them.

Drew you did read their page? They even state on their molded page how long the wait is, and how the fit on the door handles are. So you take the chance of them not fitting 100% perfect from the beginning. At least they are up and front with how their products are. So I say a good company all in all. As far as the wait, they probably wait till they get a larger order to make all of the parts. And with the emblems, mine fit perfectly, no gap and no chrome showing. The door handles a little gap but they tape they sent with mine covered that. But the gap on mine wasn't as nearly noticeable as your would seem. It was just a small less than a 1/4 of a inch gap on both sides. I have to agree with you, they could be a lot better, but Im satisfied with my order from them. I'd order again from them.

Anyone able to compare his vinyl to the stuff from lyles vinyl styles? i want to get some vinyl pieces but if i do more than 1 thing in the black jack print - i want it to match exactly (i'd be afraid it wont from 2 different places).

I did read their page haha. When I ordered, the "average wait time" was 4 weeks, and it took 8. I have to admit I did know they usually take forever because of all the angry posts on NAM. And I did read that "all MINI handles are different" but I didn't think there would be that huge of a gap. And the scratches in the plastic is a little upsetting. Overall I'm just not too happy with that purchase. Although it does make the car look 100x better from 10 feet away, the parts look bad from up close.

Ordered the black molded door handle and badge covers on May 19th, and received them on June 22nd. Not exactly three weeks, as estimated, but close enough. Finally got around to installing them today (had knee surgery on the 21st and I'm still hobbling around) and they look great! Test fitting showed that just a sliver of chrome was visible on the handles, but being ****-retentive, I used the supplied black vinyl "sin hider". No chrome shows around the badges. No scratches in any of the plastic ... each piece was nicely bubble-wrapped for shipping. Consider me a happy customer.

I have ordered a lot of stuff from Mike and it has all been top notch. Placed an order the other day and have gotten a responce. He has always answered my questions whenever I sent him an email. He tells you up front that they are a "two person" company. Everyone is in such a hurry these days. I feel their stuff is worth the wait.

Received my order the end of June finally. Black out kit went on great. Perma grin stickers for the visors and checkered vinyl center stack overlay fell off the 1st day even after cleaning with rubbing alchohol like the instructions said. o well.

My center stack overlay has remained stuck for over a year now. I found that the area around the center stack is tricky and has to be cleaned several times with an alchohol wipe. Not sure why but it just is. Yu caon get the "Red" (not white) 3M double sided tape and try again.

I broke my order in two so that one out-of-stock product wouldn't hold up the whole thing. My visor, arm pull, and center stack decals came in less than two weeks. Lots of alchohol (and never any silicon cleaner) and they all are still sticking great. Its been 3 weeks since I ordered my sunroof graphic. I'll let you know when it comes.

+1 for Lyles Vinyles ...or Styles ..or whatever they go by.
I ordered some custom CF wrapped side scuttles and had my side lights tinted. Entire job was done super quick, From time I mailed my parts to getting them back was all within a week and a half ..considering the mail took about a week alone, that was very quick turnaround. Excellent work, would highly recommend their services. I am hoping to have my door handles wrapped in CF by them in the near future.

I ordered my custom molded parts from AC on May 24, and they just shipped them today. I e-mailed them once, and got a reply almost a month later. They do list the wait time, and stress they are only a two person company, however it doesn't bode well for prospective customers when they are updating the website saying they are attending various MINI events, and most certainly fulfilling on-site orders.

I'll withhold further judgment until i receive the parts, but no doubt a terribly managed company with loads of potential.
