Floor mats

My MCS is done and just waiting to come across the pond so as mundane as it may seem I am looking for advice on the floor mat options. Tell me which type you have and what you do and don't like about your cloth vs rubber mats. Thanks!

Dealer gave me the free option of either cloth/rubber. Since I live in IL, rubbers were a must with all the road salt, slush, etc. The mat is heavy duty and just rinses clean with water.

The carpet ones are nicer looking and feel better, but the rubber ones are more practical and will last forever, I got rubber.

I bought real coco mats from www.cocomats.com I have the Tuscan beige interior with the piano black trim and the black coco mats with natural highlights pulled it all together well. I had the MINI black carpet mats. The carpet mats looked great after vacuuming them - until the first footprint.

These do not show dirt at all and come with a heavy rubber backing. Haven't had cocos since the '70's and these are very high quality units. My wife liked them so much that we ordered some for her BMW 530.

I have both.

My car came with the MINI carpet mats -- and I think they do look "classier" -- but I also bought a set of OEM rubber front mats specifically for winter and "mud season". I haven't switched them back yet -- as noted above, they're more durable and easier to keep clean. I want to get a rubber "S" mat to protect the boot, too.

The second or third time my mom got in the MINI, she spilled coffee all over the floor. Fortunately I had gotten the rubber mats so after sopping up all the coffee on the mats there was very little of the actual car that needed cleaning. Both she and I were very grateful!

My dealer threw in the rubber mats. I think I like them better than the carpet. They won't stain as easily and can be quickly cleaned when washing the car.

I like rubber mats (or better: spray on bedliner on the floor) for trucks, but I want carpet in a car. Got the Cosmopolitan mats from Morristown MINI... I don't really understand the need for the reflective trim, but they look nice and feel like good quality. The velcro-topped screws for the driver's side floorboard provided with the mats does a good job of holding them in place.

Without question rubber mats are easier to keep clean. However if you like to drive without shoes, then carpet is a lot more comfortable for your feet.

Rubbers for serious protection! I never had the carpet ones, but with living in Colorado, the rubbers were kind of a given with snow and mud and rain and such.

I have two sets of rubber mats. Car came w/ "Mini" logo mats, but I wanted the "S" mats, since she's an S. I haven't driven barefoot yet, so not sure how I'll like rubber in the summer. So far, extremely easy to clean. In my old Mercedes SL, where there were not cup holders, there were a LOT of stains on the carpet from spilled tea...I'm liking the idea of the rubber for my new baby.

Both.
Carpet for summer, Rubber for winter.

I like the look of carpet in the summer, it makes me feel more "summery" for some reason. lol.

PS: AzalasMom, where I live, it's illegal to drive barefoot! haha.
