aaanother aero grill install question

I know I have seen the thousands of posts about how to change your grill. I am not sure what I am missing but it is not seeming that easy. The top section on the standard grill is clearly connected by 11 cheap *** bolts with washers. The posts I have ready say to pry a flat head screwdriver under the bolt to facilitate its removal..I assume so it can reach the thread on the plastic screw and you can 'easily' remove it. So, I tried that and broke one of the screws off. I also noted on the aero grill there is nothing that is threaded for the bolts to hold it in place. What is it going to hold after? What am I missing? Open hood, locate screws, remove them carefully with what?!, fit the new grill and replace the hardware. So do I need a particular drill bit or something? Admittedly I am being a little ghetto and wrestling with a needle nose vice grip. Help or a link would be much appreciated.

I did not use any f the old hardware for the upper grill, ll the nuts and bolts broke off. The new grill had black studs that fit right in the holes of the mini, i used black silicone to hold it in place, 35k later and not a problem.

F'it I'm going to the dealer. I will suck it up I guess and get the right hardware. I was frustrated enough to want to break em all off but then I know I'll end up wanting to just go back to stock. So amateur of me, I was just under my car bracketing my exhaust and am stumped with the grill...

The bolts are self tapping. When you screw them onto the pegs on the new grill, they will thread it. Just use as many of the bolts as you can. I'm only using like 3 of em and a zip tie or 2.
