You can also mount it without the rods if you apply extra brackets in the back.

Unfrotunately I lost my splitter at 90 mph through the grass on the Nurburgring last week (together with half of the Aero bumper).

M7 Tuning

This is the aero kit piece which I currently have in place. I will dig up a few of the standard version which I had on previously as soon as I can .Name: eDSC06155-1.jpg

FWIW, a friend has one made out of ABS and covered in C/F vinyl, very economically done if looks is what you're after.

Impressive Performance !

Hey all.

Just wanted to chime in on this product as I have not read much here relative to it's performance gains....

First off. It's a really nice looking piece. Seems to be really rugged too. Hardware is stainless steel and again appear to be top notch. Turn buckles are also well made stainless steel.

I had issues with the install instructions though. Used the PDF Aero Kit Install file from their site . But if I had drilled the holes in the front as suggested, I would have probably turned the splitter into swiss cheese for no reason.

In the Aero Kit bumper the center section has a 12 inch wide 1" indent tunnel, and the web sites instructions said to drill like 6 holes there about 5" in from the front edge....then use the long bolts with rubber washers to fill a void to keep splitter level with the ground. But that whole area there is nothing to attach to....it's a tunnel. And if they intended the washers to fill the void there I would have needed twics as many washers....

So the only alternative was to drill them three to each side of that center tunnel. Then the remaining bolts along the back edge. Loc-tite used for all of them.

Also had a problem re-installing the 10MM bottom center bolt for the bumper. The area was completely blocked by the splitter. So there was no way to access the area where that 10mm center bolt goes. So I had to dremel tool a half circle out about the size of a half dollar to re-install that bolt and tighten with a socket head.

Driving impressions - (Mod info: Recently purchased new tires. Suspension is all powerflex with JCW Suspension, M7 Upper strut tie bar and Hotchkis 25.5mm Sport rear bar )

This splitter is AWESOME and Functional ! Much better tracking, more connected to the road, and you begin to feel that at the legal posted speed limits too....

In short, wish I had purchased one of these long time ago. Install issues aside, an awesome custom made product and has bang for your buck returns.

Thanks Matt and Randy. Nice Going.

Dave

I have to ask, I am really looking at purchasing this splitter from M7 this month. I am running OEM size tires (175/65-15) and I plan to possibly run either a 195/60-15 or a 205/55-15 here in the near future. I am lowered on TSW springs and I have the JCW aero kit. Will this splitter be too low to the ground for my car to be daily driven through the snow in Colorado? If so, I can think of other things to spend my cash on
