Interior/Exterior Plati-Dip as Hood Protection?
Plasti-Dip as Hood Protection?
Seeing a couple of threads recently about folks using Plasti-Dip to paint their slats and other trim got me to thinking. If this stuff is rubbery and can peel off easily, could it be used to spray the front part of the hood for protection for track days (my main use) of even for longer trips to protect the hood? In essence it would be like a spray-on bra. I haven't tried it yet, but I will be getting some today to do my slats and may try a part of the hood to see if it works. Anyone else tried something similar?

Not sure if this product will bleed into lighter colors ???
You may want to try painting a piece of metal white, then spray the
Plasti-Dip over it and let it sit in the sun for maybe a month ???

Intriguing concept...will be interested to see how it works out.
Also wondering if a fresh coat of synthetic or natural wax on the finish would help facilitate the temporary aspect of the Plasti-dip, making it easier to peel off without affecting the underlying finish.
