Installing Boost Guage. Help!

Hello everyone,
I am installing a mechanical boost guage on my R56 but am having a hard time finding a place to run the air hose through the firewall. I have had is running thruogh the weatherstripping in the driver side door but need to do a proper install. Can someone please offer some advice. Also, pirctures would be greatly appreciated, if available. Thanks so much.

There is a hole on the drivers side that leads into the cabin right around the pedals. That is what I used for my boost gauge.

I have tried poking through so many different rubber openings but never seem to get through. Porthos, would you mind be a bit more specific so I know which one to jam into. Thanks for the help.

With mine I used the Cravenspeed thingy at the engine end. This part camewith good instructions which are downloadable from their site.
First I removed the wipers and the covers below.I ran the hose along the engine side of the front firewall till there is a place where all these metal brake lines penetrate the outside firewall. There is a rubber piece used to seal the penetration. I stuff the hose throught here then ran it to the right side inner fire wall gasket. That is the thing with the black plastic cap where the wiring on the right side goes into the car interior. You remove the plastic cap and you can see various "nipples" you pick one that it the right size for the tube and cu the end off it. Next either stick the tube trough or a piece of wire which will end up near the clutch pedal (coming down from under the dash). You need to remove a couple of lower panels to do this properly just so you can reroute the tube up beside the stearing column.
There is another inner firewall penetration point on the passenger side that I have used as well for stereo wiring - that is right beside the battery.
It is not difficult - just take your time and plan ahead.

One more thing - once you have got the tube through the nipple put a cable tie around the rubber part to seal the joint.

Hope this helps and good luck.

that or just remove the battery cover trim piece. Under that piece there will be a big rubber grommet. You can cut one of the spare ends and rout it through there. If you keep feeding it it will come out the passenger footwell. There is the same style grommet under the driverside wiper trim piece but you have to remove the wiper in order to get to it.
