Interior/Exterior .:TUTORIAL:. how to fix the alta light bar
.:TUTORIAL:. how to fix the alta light bar
first things first. I'm sorry for the lack of pictures, but this is pretty simple, so i'm sure you DIY'ers can figure this out for yourself.
materials:
alta light bar (assuming its already installed)
4x 1" hex bolts with nuts (i just got some out of the basement that would work, seem to be ~1/4" diameter)
8x washers (for bolts above)
1x 90 degree 1"x1" (possible 1.5x1.5, i just got it from lowes)
bar with or without holes (pictured below)
(refered to as L bar)
(with holes makes initial drilling a bit easier as it gives a way to mount the two bars together, but it is not necessary)

remove the lights from the mounting bar, and then remove the mount bar from the car.
attach the L bar to the light bar with the light bolts on the farthest out bolts (they are the only ones that line up well)
drill holes of equal size to those on the mount bar through the L bar using the light mount holes as guides
trim the L bar (i used a dremel) and take the burrs off of the holes.
then mount the L bar to the light bar with the 4 light bolts
(make sure you have at least the number of holes pictured, or else the lights will not fit on the bar, they barely fit with the number of holes on mine)

test fit the bar on the car with the lights
(personally I'm going to have to go to lowes and get some washers and new bolts to bolt the light bar a little farther out form the bumper so i can aim my middle lights higher)
take lights off car, and bar off of the car then paint it black. ( i used plasti dip) then put the whole thing back together
and tada!
you can now aim the lights up and down and left and right

just tested it and it is 100% stable with no shake in the lights
for a side note, i did this because it irritated me that i couldnt aim the lights on the alta light bar left or right without pivoting them to do so, which subsequently distorts the light pattern.
