Often when I'm driving some nice and twisty road, and even merging from on ramps, I've found that the rear view mirror obstructs my view (when I'm taking a right, of course)! I have to duck my head so I can see what's in front of me! The seat is as low as it goes. Has anyone else had this little peeve? Placing the rear view mirror directly above the speedo might seem like a better idea. Has anyone toyed with that idea? I was thinking of it, but I am not sure as to how integrated the rear view mirror is with the rest of the car, and if the autodimming display is driven off the car's electrical system.

Yep, same problem. My 1962 MGA does have the rearview mirror that mounts up from the middle of the dash rather than down from the window frame and I like it much more. Only negative are placing those tags designed to hang from the rearview post. Who said that we are an advancing culture? Certainly not me.
