They look great. The only thing that I don't like is the fact that the Halo on the inside is still chrome so I would have to pull them apart and paint it. That chrome ring would drive me nuts.

I have to admit, that made me hesitate a bit before ordering them, but the overall look of them is so clean that I actually don't mind… After installing them on the car, I even started liking it like this!

This is pretty cool. My parts manager told me about a month or so ago that the camden head lights would be available as a retrofit. He knew i was doing a lot of blacking out and was excited to tell me (sell me). I might ask my dealer tomorrow when i drop off my car for the death ratter for a price quote.

I would imagine install was fairly simply.

Yes the install is fairly easy. Disconnect headlight, remove headlight, transfer ballast, flasher bulb and xenon bulb to new headlight, duplicate adjustments as much as possible, install new headlight and reconnect.

The trickiest part is installing the xenon bulb and connecting it to it's ballast...little room for the fingers and you dont wanna damage the bulb. Took me a total of 45 minutes taking my time. You will need small torx screwdriver bits.

If a black-colored, non-xenon (meaning halogen) headlight existed it wouldn't be very affective seeing as the reflective halogen headlight housing would be black. Basically, it wouldn't show any light.

oh man I want these... please keep us updated if any dealers in the US are able to order these.

I unfortunately ordered the standard lights on my MCS, -It's my only regret that I didn't spend the extra $500 for the nicer xenon lighting.

Hey I just read the fine print on the UK site that someone in an early post provided:

"Replacement Xenon Headlamp Unit as fitted to the World Championship 50 and MINI Camden

This is a full replacement unit

Direct replacement for MINIs with Xenons

Fits MINIs 2007 on R56.

Please note we require a WC50 or Camden chassis number to order these, if you supply any other chassis number, your order will be cancelled."

Why will they cancel the order if you don't provide a WC50 or Camden chassis number and why does it say it will fit any 2007 R56? Confused???

does anyone know if you can do a simple swap from halogen to xenon lights? -it's it just unplug old and install new? I really want to go from Halogen to Xenon. ...when I ordered my Mini I didn't really understand the difference between the two so went for the cheaper.

There are a few that have done it but not all colors look well with that.

I've seen one done in blue I believe. Have to search if I have the pic. Never considered it, not my cup of tea.

I just pulled the trigger in this today an ordered them from my MINI dealer. I also did not want to attempt the Joey Mod. I figure I will sell the OEM chrome Xenons.

The main reason for me to do this is to remove two very large LIDAR (Light Detection And Ranging) targets. This will leave just the license plate as a LIDAR/laser target on the front of the MINI.

Not only will they look good but they'll serve two purposes.

Not too sure but I can take a look at it for you this weekend if you want. I have my stock MCS bumper in a box in the shed, and I also have a style 1 JCW front lip that came with my JCW kit. I can check fitment for you. PM me so we dont clog up this

Or you can do like me and purchase them at a 20% discount and then sell your old HIDs for 2/3 the value of a new pair.

Now I have brand new factory lights already blacked out and someone else gets a deal on a set of R56 HIDs that is willing to paint them.

I'm in the same boat, picked up a MINI with halogens and now I want to throw a pair of the Camden lights in it.

I know for a fact that it's not just plug and play, you need to install the headlight washers as well as sensors so the lights can level. I'm sure there's other aspects to it too.

I'd like to know if anyone put HID's in their car origionally equipped with halogens and how it worked out/what the process was.

You only get the housing with the electronic internals. You will have to buy the XENON bulb, XENON ballast and headlight washer. Then reinstall and align. The auto-leveling part in integral to the bulb housing and comes with the new Camden housing. I also understand that a ECU reflash is required. The Camden housings are very hard to come by and they alone cost $559.00 each.

I have a pair of HID housings (not Camden) for sale for $700. That's a lot cheaper than $1,119.oo for a new pair.
