belt line blackout?

so, i ordered and recieved today the black tape to blackout my mini's chrome belt line. It was quite easy to apply actualy until it came to the curve on the corner of the car. the tape does not easily bend around these bends to contour them and left the tape around these bends looking terrible (big pockets of air, etc.)

for those of you who have applied this stuff, what did u do around the bends of your car!?

DJ, first make sure you don't stretch the tape. Also, use a credit card to push the air bubbles toward the outsides, this should take care of that. Take your time, don't rush. Remember to remove the clear tape after you've applied it, that clear tape makes it look worse than it really is. Good Luck.

I just got my beltline blackout tape too. Too darn cold out to put it on right now. Does anyone know if a heat gun or hairdryer would help get the tape around the corners?

Ok. Smoothed out most of the kinks. Tomorro I'll try a blowdryer to see if I can perfect the smoothness and finish

I just finished my blackout using just 3M electrical tape. I did use a heat gun which helped in pushing the tape to adhere especially at the end of the piece. If using a heat gun, remember to not keep it on too long because it will become difficult for the adhesive to stick to the chrome piece.
