Black Emblems/Badges

I wonder if anyone knows of anyother places to get Black emblems.Aestheticreations seems too take too long, and when he e-mailed me (the only response i can get out of him) he didnt answer 95% of my questions.I would rather not buy from him, especially that it takes 6 months for some customers to recieve his product.Anyone know anywhere else?(looks like vynilstyles is the best option as of now, but i would like to see if i have other options.)Thanks.

vynilstyles is a very good option, I have both front and rear emblems from Lyle.
Many have used plastikote with good success. The emblems come off easy if you want to just paint. There is double sided tape but it is easy to cut with fishing line.

Truck bed liner stuff?
is that like plasti dip?
seems more like.. rugged.

So the emblems will stay on good after i take them off and use that double sided tape?

thanks,

anyone else have any other suggestions?

i took them off with with fishing line and then peeled off the glue from the manufacture, then took off the MINI "stickers" which are metal and practically super glued to the emblem (dont bother taking the sticker off, your more likely to break it... just mask it off). then painted everything and used 3M emblem glue to put it all back together

Well, those CF ones from vinylstyles look pretty awesome, I won't lie.

I had some vinyl done by some local place, and watching him do it i could tell he wasn't as careful or as much as a perfectionist.

He did my headlight rings, hoodscoop, door handles, and gascap.

It looks.. okay. i guess its okay for $70

but its been about 3 months and the passenger doorhandle is peeling bad, and in the cold the gascap one like unstreatched itself. looks pretty annoying, so I'm going to take it off soon.
plus, its like a brown based black, in the morning light its looks like i have a Brown-out.

It makes me kind of want to stay away from vinyl, But i know lyle would do a much better job, and better materials. and he was very nice to answer all my questions, im definetly getting some repeaters from him soon (which are plasti dipped though)

I plan on painting my wheels soon. so I think Im going to just buy extra paint and paint most of my parts.

what was suggested by s00perc00per sounds good, i have just heard they are hard to get back on after, like they dont stick well even with the 3m, and that i should buy new emblems and paint or wrap those and put those on.

there are different types of vinyl quality for sure. $70! haha sounds way too low. I paid lyle almost 7 times that to get all my stuff minus the roof installed. Ive used cheap vinyl, which my company used to print die-cut stickers with that we give away. After about 3-4 washes, it starts to peel and in the sun it tends to fade easily as well. From what I know this performance CF vinyl costs a good 20 times what normal vinyl costs and is very thick. I would think it would stand up to the elements quite well.

Jirsty,

Did you ever get around to painting? I would like to see some pictures if so, because I am thinking of painting mine as well.

THanks!

Yeah, check out my gallery, I took a picture of each, they are dirty though.

Plasti dip was the route to go, cheap, fun, easy, and I love the way it looks.

they have two holes for placement. the winged emblems do at least. (front and back)
sorry man!
You could still take of the Cooper S part, that has no holes, and give the back a cleaner look.

Ok so my oem exterior badge on the rear of my r50 hatchback base model was damaged in a hail storm, can anyone tell me if that is bolted in or if it is a sticker and where to get a replacement

So, if you are talking about the winged badge, you can get if off with some dental floss and hot air from a hair dryer. It is just stuck on with some double sided tape. It does have two pegs that stick out of it that go in holes (that make sure it is on straight)

You can see the pegs in this picture (next to the two H's on the back side of the badge)

You can also buy a new rear badge off ebay - it would probably be your most cost effective option.

Edit:

Here is a site with the trunk badge the cheapest:

I have ordered stuff of here before and they have been perfect.
