3m carbon fiber vinyl wrap for trim and arches

Hi everyone! So I'm waiting [im]patiently for the stork to bring my new 2010 MCS to port, which means I'm searching about for goodies to pass the time. I love the MC and pretty much everything about it, except for the unpainted trim on the bottom (although it's slowly growing on me). I looked into painting the arches and trim, and it would look great, except that the lines don't flow unless you fill them in and repaint. (Which is not an option for me on a new car.)

My solution was to wrap the unpainted trim and arches in the 3M carbon fiber vinyl. So my questions are:

1) Has anyone done this mod yet? If so, are there any pix or suggestions? I figured I'd just take it to a local vinyl shop and have it done there.

2) Would the vinyl stick properly to the unpainted trim and arches? On the flip side, when the time comes to remove the vinyl, would adhesive remover damage the unpainted trim?

3) Would salt from winter months pretty much eat away at the vinyl fairly quickly since it is so low to the ground? Have other people with vinyl wraps had problems with the lower portion of the car? On the flip side, I figured it would not bake and dry out as much in the sun because it's on the lower portion of the car.

Thanks so much for all your help and I can't wait to be an official member of the community!

There are a few people on here that have wrapped their entire MINIs, except for the trim. The vinyl won't stick, unless you use some sort of paint primer or something to get the texture off of the plastic trim pieces. Trust me, I would love to get rid of it too!

No wonder!

No wonder! I searched for like 2 hours trying to find people who have wrapped their trim and arches to no avail!
