I own a 2007 Cooper S, and looking for a roof rack for snowboards.
Has anyone had experience with the "Yakima Roof Rack Q Towers" ???

It seems like Morristown Mini has a good pricing on the OEMs that go on the rain gutter instead of drilling holes on the roof...I may be able to get the Yakima Roof Racks Q Towers for cheaper...so I was wondering how that one works. Any ideas? Yakima vs OEM.

 

On the Gen 2 R56 there is NO screw in OEM rack.

As for the OEM rack it does NOT attach to the rain gutters it attaches to brackets under the roof skin and has cover brackets that go over the holes when the rack is removed.

This link is for the clubman R55 but the rack mounts the exacat same way on the Coop R56. In Fact for some time they both used the exact same part number for the rack, but after some complaints of damage on the clubman they mad a few slight changes to the mounting parts.
