CF down tubes
Hi, I was wondering if someone can tell me where is the best place to get some CF down tubes? I remember seeing them on a parts site... but I looked through all my bookmarks and can't find it. I searched here and have seen installs but can't find a place that actually sells them. I just got the JCW CF dash kit in CF and wanted the matching down tubes.
Also I read in an older issue of MC2, a featured car that was automatic was using the JCW CF shift ****. Anyone try this? Wonder how he shifts since the **** doesn't have a button.

Both Out and Morristown doesn't show it on their sites. Ive sent them both emails, havent gotten a response yet. I called my local Mini dealer and they said the computer says no longer available.

Yea i was gonna do some stuff with the CF fabric i have too. but I have the real cf dash and door panels.. it just wouldnt match right. Im going to use the 3M stuff on some exterior items. Newministuff ships from the UK and exchange rate kinda sucks plus shipping is high. Id prefer to find someone in the US with them. Im sure some online store or dealer should have one set in stock.

I am stoping at Morristown Mini on Friday will see if they have them as i am also looking to do this.
I did the dry carbon wrap and it came out great, but i won an ebay CF dash for a stupid low price and then picked up the real carbon fiber door panels, so I am looking to do the DT also. Will update you on Friday

Ive searched all over the net and the only one that makes them or sells them would a seller by the name of Tuning Supply on ebay. I bought a bunch of his stuff already, the fit is actually pretty good for an overseas manufacturer. Ive also exchanged emails with the guy and he takes factory pieces and makes a mold from them. I have his rear boot handle, 3pc cf interior, and front lower grill installed. The fit is good but not perfect. I think he makes door panel covers for about 300 bucks plus shipping. I'm probably just going to get mine wrapped in the 3M CF vinyl from vinyl styles.

I removed the alloy patina dashboard parts and put the CF covers outside. This allowed for a more aligned fitment and there were only 1 or 2 spots where mounting back caused trouble due to addt'l height. However on a price per dollar comparison they can't be beaten
I have also ordered the door panels (alloy patina sections will be covered in cf) and my new right side dash cover will arrive with those too. Btw, the shipment is quite quick. I received my first package in just 4 days with EMS. The parts were well packed fyi.
I'll put some pics after the door panels arrive and are installed.
just my two cents

check this site out. www.nvdautosport.com I've never used them, but they seem to carry virtually everything in CF.

Prices are alright, the newministuff site is pretty high priced also considering the exchange rates. Most of the Thai stuff you can't get here, but in comparison the dealer sells the cup holder rings for $75 and the shifter ring for $75 and Thai guy is at $45 and $58 plus shipping. Morristown quoted me $250 + shipping on the downtubes as opposed to $285 from Thai guy. Vinyl Styles charges $250-300 to CF wrap door handles and the CF covers that guy sells is $250...
its expensive if u look at it as Thai-made CF covers, but if u compare to whats available here, the prices are reasonable.
