I've been trying to verify the details on the 3-spoke steering wheel that is suppose to be either be standard or an option on the 2004 MCS. Some info is:

Does anyone have any inside info from their dealer on the when the wheel will be available? Will it come from the factory or will it be a dealer installed option? I think the Option Code is 255. I noticed that it is shown in the 2004 MINI manual.

Any info would be appreciated.

 

"it will be available on week 49 builds forward" - meaning early/mid December builds on will get it and it will be most likely be standard from then on with the MCS.

Not a fan of that steering wheel... but, I think fairly small changes like that are a good thing. All of us with the early years of the MINI will have something very special and not exactly like the... say, 2010 MINI. A good thing I think.

Wow, I really dislike it! As delicate as the central MINI logo on my steering wheel is, I definitely prefer it to this 3-spoke boredom. At least they changed it a bit so it doesn't look EXACTLY like the Beetle steering wheel.
