My Salesman/MA says that they will save all the original parts of my car for me and when I pick up my car I can say if I want them or not. Front and Back bumpers, the back has the places for the PDC, side skirts, and front grills.

I have a large shed, the type with cement floor and real walls like a single car garage, in my back yard. I have allot of storage space so that is not an issue. My brother has a pick up so I'll have no trouble getting the parts home if I decide I want them.

On the one hand I think, They are Mine, I've paid for them so I want them. On the other hand, I wonder, what will I do with them?

So Do I want the original parts?
Why or Why Not ?

Some people like to have the original parts,
What kind of MINI do you have? MC or MCS.
What color?
If you don't want to store them then you can place them on marketplace for sale.

I have an MCS with a bunch of scratches on the front bumper and I would consider buying an indiblue
front bumper that is relatively new from an owner that just had the aero bumper installed.

If you have the MCS then the side skirts are better on the MCS than on the MC and have some value. Some people like to experiment with parts and like to design their own aerokit.

Most people I know that had the aerokit installed did not get any spare parts back from the dealer.

If you have the space to store the parts, I recommend getting them even if you never plan on using them on your MINI. Some people will put the original parts on if they decide later on they dont like the aero kit, and some will sell them to others who need them to replace crash-damaged parts.

If you are sure you dont want them yourself for future use, hold on to them and place an 'ad' in the marketplace section here on MCO and maybe other sites as well. People are constantly looking for specific-color body parts to replace those damaged in minor fender-benders, and you can recoup some of the cost of your kit by selling your old pieces. Why let the dealer/installer profit by your old parts when you can instead?

Thank you both for the good ideas! and I do think it's great the dealer just told me He'd have my parts and I can decide the day I pick up the car if I want them. After reading your posts, I called my brother, he is now going to take me to the dealer in his Ford truck so he can bring the parts home for me.

ok, so off to go through the old bed sheets! I sure am glad I have one king size bed and one full size bed. I think some of the parts might be large or long and need a king size sheet!! I'll wrap each piece in a flat sheet, put them in my shed and if ever I need it or want to sell it, it will be in good shape.

BTW --- I am getting a Chili Red MCS. and the back bumper has the PDC in it.
