A new install.

So I posted on here about a week ago for some help on how to install these cause there was no instructions. Nobody ended up responding. So after looking at the car for a few minutes and talking to MotorMouth for a little bit and he let me know how to take the scuttles. Once I got the scuttles off it took like 5 minutes. And they look awesome.

So I have had a couple questions about these lights.

They are amber, they are plug and play but you have to make sure that the harness wires make full contact or they won't light up. Had a problem on the passenger side with wires not lining up so I had to move them around. They are also a little bit brighter then the stock bulbs. I think mostly it could be brighter had they added about 5 or 6 more LEDs. But overall these things are awesome they look a lot better and are a little smoother then the stocker

That's very clean looking. If you don't mind explaining it very briefly, can you tell me how to remove the side scuttles?

They dont come in blue. Black and clear. Open the hood and pull toward the front of the car on the scuttle and it will pop off.

When the web site says they come in Black or Chrome, any idea what they are referring to? And what did you purchase, Black or Chrome?

Have any pictures in the night with the LEDs on?

Ok I have the black ones. The chrome ones refer to the back being chrome. I take it that they look like the black ones but are chrome instead. As far as I know I am the only person that has these installed. So, someone needs to take the leap and get the chrome ones and install them and post up pics. Until then its a guessing game of what the chrome ones look like.

I just ordered the Black one. After reading your last post, I looked at your original picture, and I assume that black and chrome refer to the inside color where the LEDs are.

Mine arrived today. Installed them in about 20 minutes. The difficult part was sliding out my JCW Scuttle Carriers as I didn't want to break them. Once they were out, the new lense + LED snapped into place, and I put the socket and cable back, and it's all done.

I'm glad I purchased the black ones, and not the Chrome ones. I'm slowly getting rid of my exterior chrome, and this was the first step.

Like Porthos said. Wish they put more than 3 amber LEDs in there. I'm guessing they had room for a total of 9, but 3 is a good start.

I keep looking at the construction of them and wondering how hard it might be to de-soldier them and soldier on blue LED's. Might have an issue with voltage though. Thoughts?

Won't you run into legal issues with having blue turn signals on the sides?

I don't think the side markers are mandatory for state regulation so technically I'd think I can make them whatever color I want. Anyone else have an idea on this?

Yeah its the regulation of the department that I'm not sure about. I know its not mandatory to have the side markers cause I have 2 other vehicles that DON'T have them and they're legal. Heck most don't, only reflectors on the side. I don't know what the law is on the color of the side ones is, especially since it would seem they aren't mandatory.

They are amber and they are a little bit brighter then the OEM ones. And I would not risk putting blue ones in. That is just asking for harrassment from the "Man". Don't bring unneed attention to yourself cause you never know they might start ticketing you for other mods you have done.

How hard was it to do the wiring. It seems a little difficult for a newbie like me from looking at the instructions. Are they $50 each or for a set?
