Interior/Exterior Front Bumper Grill
#1
Ok printed off the instructions on the Grill install, both the one on the bonnett and
the harder one on the bumper, however, do you have to remove the bumper?
Do I need any types of glue or is this going to snap in? are their any other
instructions that have more pic of how to cut down the smaller grill part so it
fits flush?
Just looking for more input from those who have it installed.
btw the bonnett grill was very easy and look good, but the package is not
complete unitl I get the smaller part on the bumper done.
please pass any help my way.

You will need to remove the bumper to get to the lower grill slat. There are something like 7-8 bolts of various types holding it on the car. The slat it attached with an adhesive strip. If I recall correctly, you need to pop out the chrome piece, then carefully pull the slat off.
What grill are you putting on? I went from the standard body color to chrome. The lower slat comes with an adhesive strip already attached and it was sized properly already.
Let me know if you need more details.

Hey Kent,
I answered over on the other board as well, but here's the link to a post I made awhile ago about my DIY
My thoughts and a few Pics
Sorry SumWon, I'd do it myself again, even just the front aero bumper, paint and install by a shop or dealer would be waaaay more then the $79 buck this mod costs. If you take your time and have the place to pull the bumper cover off and work on it, it's not that hard of a task, IMO.

Kent, I am preparing to do the top grille, the one you have already done. I have a question. The tabs (studs or whatever they are called) on the new Aero grille seem way too large to be able to accept the old self tapping screws from the old grille. They are not even threaded. Did you reuse them some how? What did you use to re-attache the new black grille? Thanks!

Hey Brad,
Unless there was a major retool they should be the same size as the one I put on.
Yes you reuse the old ones, takes a bit of fiddling to get the old ones off if you don't want to break the plastic studs off.
I found that a small flat tip screwdriver used as a wedge and small socket was enough to get the old ones off without damaging the OEM grille. Careful you don't drop them cause the new kit doesn't come with replacements. They will cut new threads onto the aerogrille plastic studs with a little pressure.
After the first few you'll get used to the technique of getting them off.
Good Luck, and I think it'll look great on a pepper white!

K, on the top grill, they are plastic and they dont have threds, but when you start
using the OEM screws they cutt into the plastic and tread up, they make a
secure fit, I have had no issues. to get them off a small screw driver may
have to be used on some to get pressue so they Unscrew, I droped one and
spend about 20 min fishing it out. the top is by far the easyer of the two.
the bottom, take the bumper off if you have back problems and/or want
to paint the part, I left mine the way it came from the dealer. the slots do have
to be re-done, they dont line up, pretty easy to measure, find the center of
the bumper then you can measure where each tab goes. take your time, thats
the key.
