Interior Chrome

I know we have all talked about and done the de-chroming on the exterior, but has anyone done anything on the interior. I'm talking about the door handles, glove-box button, and toggle switches. Just wondering if anyone has done anything or have any thoughts. I just painted the door handles, and I was going to paint the glove-box button, but I think it was going to get too messy. I was thinking of getting a wide piece of black electrical tape, and covering it with that. Thanks for your thoughts.

To make the glove box painting easier, I would remove the button. To do that, you have to remove the passenger colorline trim. Thats not too difficult, its just held in with screws. once its out just pop the button out.

For the rest, im not too sure. Heat wrap vinyl around the toggles? I would suggest anything else thats permanent, as the shape of the switches (i would assume) is a PITA to work with.

I looked into this as well as all the silver(i didn't get the chrome interior) arouns the speedo and vents. It is really not worth it. The amount of time it's gonna take you to get it all out you will go nuts. I might tackle it one day but it will be a day when the MINI is my second car and i can have the interior torn apart for a weekend and not have to worry about it.

I'm trying to remove this piece. I got the three screws out, but I can't figure out what to do next. Someone please help me soon. Someone, anyone?

Well I think I found the problem. I believe there are two more screws. One behind the outer vent, and maybe one behind the speedometer, both up high. I'm not sure how to get to these though. So I guess I concede. Seems like too much just to paint one little button.

Yeah, thats right. I believe that there may be a few more screws on either side of the secret compartment. Pop off the little plastic covers that are on either side of the compartment and you will see them. Im 90% sure they are there.

What plastic covers are you talking about?

When the secret compartment is open, there are 2 black plastic trims on either side of it that hide the screws... Kinda hard to explain, but are kinda visible in the photo below. You can pry them off easily with a flathead screwdriver. Like I said this may be of no use but im pretty sure there are screws behind there.
