Storm Troop'n Out the MINI

I don't know if you know who Rob Dyrdek is, but his UAV is "Storm Trooped Out" (http://www.celebritycarsblog.com/200...-murdered-out/) and my wife gave me permission to do the same to her Mini...discuss.

Almost... Rob and Big fan.

His UAV was Murdered out first, like my truck... now its Storm Trooped out, like her Mini is gonna be

I go to a local weekly show here in Dallas called Ricekiller. Thinking about taking her Mini instead of my truck, once it's finished.

I thought storm trooper'ing was a "white out" rather than a "black out"

Kinda like this:

If that's what you're doing, I'd LOVE to see that on a MINI. I bet that would look seriously kick butt!

i'm going black and white...ridding the car of all the chrome... maybe if she was an "s" i would have gone all white.

let me take some more pics of the rest of the stuff i've done, but no, i didn't take any of the step by step. just kinda did a search on how to remove parts... other than that, it's just comes down to technique and being a perfectionist on the paint.

I'm pissed the Magic lost again in the final seconds. We could be up 3-1 right now

Did you plasti-dip the grille? Would love to see pics of the progress... but did you consider adding the JCW grille? I just replaced my justacooper grille with the JCW and LOVE it. Not that expensive at all, 56$ from out motoring and you could actually show your wife how to do that mod herself. I bet she'd be really proud of herself for doing it too...

Here's a pic of what mine looks like.

Yes, I did plastidip her grille. I also asked if she wanted a mesh style like my truck and she said she liked hers she just wanted it black. She actually helped me do the headlight rings and grille two days ago. I will try to get some pics up tomorrow for you guys.

But then again, yours is more honey comb then mesh... We'll see. It's her car, so I'm just doing stuff she likes and wants done.

I think it's wonderful that you're doing this for her... my hubby reads another car forum and you have no idea how many times he's come to me with questions like, "If I modded your car like this without asking you, would you kill me?" and sadly... the answer is usually yes. Even before I got my MINI, my car was a very personal thing to me. It was mine. I drove it, I had to deal with the problems with it. If something went wrong and it was his fault... it would cause arguments. It's not something we ever wanted to deal with, and thankfully... my hubby isn't huge on modding.

Still, it amazed me how many guys were inconsiderate of what their wives wanted and here you are, going to all this effort for what your wife actually wants for her car.

You must be an awesome husband, just like mine.

Looking forward to seeing those pics and would love to hear her reaction when you guys are done. You're doing great!

Funny... mine does the same thing.

If I say yes, he gets this big goofy grin on his face and grabs his keys and we go do whatever it was... if it's any comfort, we've been married for 14 years and there's no sign of that changing any time soon.

Spade: Thanks! I'll go check it out first thing in the AM!

Good job on both cars! Nice X-Runner, my brother has one too but in speedway blue. It's fun to drive for a truck but hes selling it now (its twin turbo). Just a coincidence one car is a mini and the others an XR, it's just like my driveway
