Laid down about 3 or 4 coats so far. Letting them sit for 30 minutes then I will re-install.

Broke a few of the silver tabs from the headlight chrome and gave up. Am I supposed to separate the whole black clip or the silver tab from the black clip?

Read another thread which said to pry using flathead between silver tab and black clip.

Trying not to start a new thread and this seems like the right place so - How do you remove the chrome beltline pieces from the barn doors on a Clubman? The rubber strip below the chrome on my passenger side door is ripped and I have replacement rubber, but I don't know how to pop the chrome off (and back on) without damage. Looks like it should just pull off...

Thanks. Glad you like it.

I have no plans to drop it. It's my daily driver I don't want a coilover that makes the ride harsher. I only track it once a year so maybe I'll add the JCSW Sport Suspension. The lowered look isn't important to me.

For sure. just a thought though, lowering springs can give a much more comfortable ride that stock, if its comfort ur after since its a DD.

I'm actually going to save instead for the aero kit, and maybe the JCW susp. down the road, which lowers about 1/2"

Look for Joey mod instructions. I know I have seen it there. i couldn't find it right now as I'm at work. I'll look later and see if I could find it. The Joey mod thread is under interior exterior 2nd gen.

i went home and looked. very easy. just use a flathead and there are 2 tiny pins that kind of hold it on....

easy enough to see when looking at it

I had an idea. Dangerous, I know.

I'm thinking about trying to PAINT (with a paint brush) the beltline with gloss black Plasti Dip. I currently have 3M striping tape covering the chrome. Has anyone tried doing the beltline with a paint brush? I know Plasti Dip comes in non-aerosol paint cans.

Good idea? Bad idea? Any thoughts?

Thanks again for the help in this thread. I just replaced the chrome grill surrounds and swapped the scuttles for JCW's.

Trying to decide if I want to go further or not. Im thinking next step is to definitely black the gas cap but i am 50/50 in the middle on the headlight taillight.

I did buy tape for the belt line but I think I may keep that. Decisions Decisions

When you all Plasti Dip the parts, Do you just coat the top side or the back side to, plus the clips that are on the rings ???

Didn't want to start a new thread but didn't want to keep going through so many post.
I've been looking for awhile and did see any thing about it.

Thanks

Hello, does anyone knows how the chrome belt line is removed?

I'm interested most at the door piece and hood one.

Thanks in advance..

I have a question as to how to wrap the headlight rings: Is it easier to just have a long/thin strip of (using black of course) vinyl and then stretch around the compound curves or is it easier to just get a big sheet and lay over and then cut out the center (which creates a ton of waste I know)?

I will be wrapping my headlight/taillight bits and was wondering what the preferred method was.
