OFFICIAL Racing Seat Guide for the Gen 2 MCS/MC

Anyone who has any information regarding racing seat setups for the R56, please post it here.

What seats fit? What are the best seats? What are the best bang for the buck?

Any information will do.

as far as seats go, theres plenty out there to choose from. Its kind of like picking shoes, everyone has their own styles and needs. Im looking for some reclinable seats. I've had buckets and the lady friends complain too much.

Also, the thing we need to do is take the passenger seat sensor, either off, disable it, or insert it into the new seat in order to avoid annoying lights etc. I've been trying to see what other cars have these mats and copy their methods but havent found any good info. (i.e. Z. etc..)

Where is a good place to get them for the MINI? Any ideas? A buddy of mine got his locally from this place in NJ called Stable Energies. His seat is a MOMO and its so nice, but it rubs against the door because of its size.

I guess I'll have to go look around.

Just check out the Recaros as they already have out the rails that mounts to the Gen2 MINI.

Not sure about on the R56, but I've been pretty happy with Recaro Pole Positions in my M3. Leather and suede quality is top-notch from Recaro, holds me perfectly inside the seat (I am of average body size).
When searching for seats, all I can say is to consider a few things:
1) Buying seats for looks or performance? Non-reclineable bucket shells will offer the most weight reduction and safer than reclineable seats (if you have roll bar/harness bar).
2) Use your back seat a lot?
3) Does FIA approval matter to you? These are crash-tested seats that have been approved to meet or beat FIA safety standards.
4) Some seats offer choices of fabrics, others do not. You COULD custom wrap it, but it's cheaper and less hassle to consider this too before buying.
5) Always check up on mounting hardware. On my M3, I needed to buy mounting plates to have the seat rails mount on to. If what danielo says is true, you may not need to buy mounting plates, but always be sure or you'll be in for a big headache.

HMS Motorsport sells a lot of good seat stuff... so does VAC Motorsport.
I got my Recaros from Lucent Motors, however.

Here is some more info I found while researching this subject:

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ket-seats.html

Also can anyone confirm that the R53 seat brackets and R56 are different?
