I am going to buy the aero kit. But I don't know if I should go with
paiting the arches Liquid Yellow, or leave them black.

Does anyone have a picure of a LIQUID YELLOW with an aero kit and Painted
Yellow arches?

I have pictures of yellow with the black, but I really want to see it in yellow.

Thanks.

I got these pics some time ago. I have also been thinking about painting my wheel arches. I thought these were great side by sides. Not an MCS but it gets the point across.

I really like the fenders painted black:

But what I want to see with a MINI with a white top, is the fenders painted the glossy white.

Black painted fenders do look good.

Here is another yellow but with painted side skirts only. Black lower skirts and wheel wells.

Sugar, have you had much of a problem with rock chips on the black fender trim?
That is my concern.
Thus, I thought about going with the Yellow arches.

But, I think painting the arches yellow makes the wheel wells looks to small, much like those Suzuki Aerios thing. Black makes them seem larger.

I like the yellow painted arches. It think it cleans up the profile of the car.

As for making the wheel wells looking smaller, it does, but going to 17" wheels minimizes that effect. A little lowering and !

I would be interested in seeing pics of sn LY MINI with black or white painted arches.

I want to see a staight side image of a Yellow with Yellow arches.
I plan on going to 17" rims (just can't make up my mind what I want).
But I decided against lowering it, due to the camber problems.

I am leaning towards the black painted arches. I think that might look
cool. I don't hink there is a Yellow one yet like that.

So, my question is, how difficult/expensive is it to paint the arches? More importantly, is there a bunch of prep work involved? I thought those surfaces would be difficult to paint and have it stay.

I guess it isn't to bad.
My painter told me it would be about $400-$600 to paint the aero kit.
The labor is making the fender trim smooth, if you go that way.
A pair of side skirts could be done for a couple hunderd bucks I bet.

i got my whole aero kit and wheel lips painted for 300. they put several coats of a high build flexable primer on. i then took them home and wet sanded everything with 400 grit sand paper to get them smooth. then i gave them all back to them to be painted. he had to make up a bunch of stands to make everything lay out nice for paint, but it was not too hard. and the aero kit already comes in primer so that is easy. it's not yellow, but here is how it turned out. i have a spare set of wheel lip moldings for sale too if anyone wants them.

I think I *slightly* prefer the black wells, especially on a lighter color - makes the wheels look a lot smaller and takes away the some of the rugedness away that a MINI sort of needs to look a bit more aggressive.

I don't have a picture but I saw a Yellow MINI painted all yellow in person. Even the wheels! It kind of lost it's "POP". It gave me a taste of butter in my mouth.

I agree. Thanks guys.
I'm going to keep the arches black....painted or not.

Nothing against body colored arches, buy yellow just doesn't pull it off.
Blue, Silver, Black, look great. Yellow just doesn't.

Thanka again. I just love MCO!
