Alta gauge issue

Just finished installing both the Alta water temp & boost gauges. One small problem. The diasy chain lead is not long enough. The wire was nearly impossible to install. Finally I got the wire attached in order to test. In order to get the wires connected I had to move the pod to the highest position next to the tach. I measured both daisy wire that were shipped, they're both the same length. I think I need about 4 inches more. I could probably live with a little less but it would be really difficult to remove it once installed.
Anybody know where to get another wire with the correct ends?

Actually if you call prosport in St Pete (google it) they have been very responsive to all my questions and needs for their gauges (despite the fact that I purchased through Alta). They will likely send you a longer lead. I had the same problem and had an extra daisy chain and I spliced two together to give me enough play to lower the gauges.

Mine was to short also. Have to keep my gauges in the lowest position for them to work. Screws are the wrong pitch also so they will not stay tight. As a result I just keep them at lowest point anyway.

as for the screws.... swap the tach screws with the ones that hold on the OBD2 port.... works great

Odd, I had this same problem like 6 months ago when I installed my gauges, I called Alta, they said they were aware of the issue and would be addressing it in coming releases. In fact there is a post here by me discussing this, where they claim they fixed it.

I fabricated my own harness, looks like that is still the fix.

I (while we were on the phone 7/17) sent an email to Prosport explaining how your harness was short. He told me he was looking into it with the factory and would get that taken care of.

i also spliced. I tried calling prosport. They didn't return my call. So much for good customer service. IMHO there's no excuse for Alta. Shame on them if they didn't do an install before shipping the guages. If they did, shame on them for not making the $2.00 correction. It's the little things that separate a good company from everyone else.

update:
When the headlight switch is "0" the gauges do not power up. I'm thinking the lead that Alta suggested to splice off of the OBD was incorrect. It does power up with the headlight switch in either of the other 3 positions.
