Interior/Exterior There's a new scoop in town!
Watch out for big bad Mark! He didn't like it the last time Voltage got free publicity on NAM. The thread for their CAI went on as a 5 page complaint back in June. lol
That said, Looks good! Not a huge fan of some manufacturers of scoops, Uber's was insanely priced, and we all know about their company's public opinion. I think like anything else its good to have another option, and this certainly seems like a good one.

Figures......after I have ordered my PU scoop in CF and they finally sent me an email a month and a half later (only after 5 phone messages and about 3 emails that I left with no response back). Then they played the game of, oh a shipment came in damaged and we had to wait hence the delay. Weather or not it is true, they have EASILY had the worst customer service out of ANY company I have EVER had to deal with for ANY product. A warning to other future customers.....they love to, and WILL play this game with you. There is a reason they got the boot on NAM.
My new scoop
Nice looking scoop, definitely better than either of the M7 options. Presently I have the BBR-GTi stick on. They call it the 'Ram Induction Bonnet Air Inlet Venturi kit'. I am sure it delivers the intended function of much more flow, it's just not very smooth. Longboard, I think this is the same thing you have/had.
Anyway, the Voltage product looks much better, just the right amount of aggressiveness without being gaudy. A nice OEM look.

First off that scoop is killer! I've wanted to get some type of scoop for a while now...maybe this is it.
Anyways I got two questions.....
1. How much is it? answer: http://www.voltageproductsonline.com/hoodscoops.html
2. Can you get it in carbon fiber?

I don't know the legal dimensions of all this, but the scoop(s) in question all derive from the mule designed and made by Joel (JS) who has designed and proto'd other nice stuff for our cars.
Those profile shots posted above sure look like the same scoop to me...

It is different then both M7 scoops or any other for that matter. The problem is that the scoop is small and no matter what you do it will look similar to something else. Unless you make a real ugly one like the uber.
As for Mania they contacted Dale and are now a Distributor for Voltage. Good for Dale because believe it or not there is a big market outside of NAM.

No doubt, Longboard. It's pretty hard to fit a good looking scoop into the bonnet hole and not have it look the same as another. The photos you posted seem to suggest a bigger opening--is that the case? Is it offset or the full width?
Longboard,
More specifically, what is the area of the opening for stock, and for this new Voltage scoop? I am sure it is larger, but by how much.........1%, 10%, 50% ???
On second thought, while this is important, I think the limiting factor may be the black plastic the scoop feeds into, as far as the cross-sectional area feeding the intercooler. So, regardless of whether you change the scoop or not, a little trimming of that 'inner' scoop can only help. Mine had a lip running around the entire circumference, I guess a mold flashing or something. Anyway, that can't be optimal, and it had to go.

Hey Longboard,
Do you know if trimming is required on the inner black plastic scoop? If so to what extent? I believe DrPhil recommends to just cut that whole inner scoop thing out.
Exactly what is required for an install?
Thanks..............

So no modification to the INSIDE of the bonnet is required, other than (I assume) removing the inner part of the stock air opening?
Also, there's no additional inner parts that isolate engine heat back-flow into the radiator, like other scoops? In other words, does this leave a large section of the primered inner bonnet surface exposed like other replacement scoops?
I gotta say that I'm generally not a fan of replacement scoops, ESPECIALLY ones that protrude forward past the line of the bonnet (Uber's is particularly fugly IMHO), but this one isn't too bad. I'd participate in a group buy if one were offered, either for plastic or in CF - let me know.
