1st Gen/2nd Gen Side Skirt swap?

I have a set of each (standard MC 1st Gen & MCS 2nd Gen) and they look very similar for fixing hole/slot positions, etc but has anyone successfully fitted the 2nd Gen Cooper S side skirts to a 1st generation MINI?

this would be cool... seems like it would be different though.
If you have them, try it. It should be to hard to remove everything to see.
