Here's a picture of the carbon fiber door scoops. They look great the one fit perfectly the other was slightly warped and didn't realize it until it was mounted

Can I still get the intro price? I just got my internet connextion back and I'm afraid I may have missed this. I've got the hood scoop and the mirror caps and they look great.

Exactly, but how about the whole door? I don't understand the carbon fiber veneer thing. Guess I'm just not a ricer at heart.

Wow....no one ever called me a ricer before!

Let's see, I wanted something to act as a scratch guard under the door handle. I don't need a new door handle, the one I have works fine. There's no separate part under the handle to replace other than the entire door panel, don't need that either I'm glad to say. So, the options I could find were ALL some form of "veneer," either chrome (yuck), one of the clear 3M products, or these CF inserts. I decided I wanted to try something more interesting than clear vinyl and I don't like chrome. The CF doesn't stand out like a sore thumb against my IB paint under the chrome handles. CooperSpeed said "Pointless if you ask me...can't hardly tell a difference..." Thanks, that's what I was hoping for, and it's even less obvious on IB....and isn't that kind of the opposite of the ricer attitude anyway?

Hmmm, so now I'm a ricer?! I don't think so. How 'bout you stop being so judgemental about folks you know nothing about?

Sorry - definitely not meant as a personal attack. It's just that the idea of ADDING carbon fiber parts to a car (rather than replacing metal with CF) for looks alone kind of defines "rice" for me.

I like them, they'll help protect the paint from being scratched behind the handles and they look so cool!

Thanks XAlfa, but tell me something. How do you "replace" the metal behind the door handle? There may be folks buying these things for purely ornamental purposes, but some of us (most?) think of these particular CF overlays as functional....they do nothing other than protect the paint. The fact that they happen to be non-clear and non-chrome doesn't make them or their use "rice."

Fair enough, kurvhugr. If you feel that the paint behind your door handles needs some special protection, then these seem like a perfectly fine way to go. Sorry if my post was offensive.

Or damage the paint. If you don't clean bhind the inserts, it is possible for all types of crud and stuff to get back there and eat away at your paint. Just a wor of advice. I have seen many paint jobs ruin by thins that are supposed to protect them, like bras...

i've never really gotten the idea of putting something on to protect paint.. i mean it's protected, yeah, but you never see the paint for which you are protecting. and when the thing that's protecting eventually comes off to show the protected paint, chances are it'll be less faded than the unprotected paint. as for bras (not clear), i'd almost rather have rock chips than to look at the ugly bra all the time.

or maybe my overall bitterness and cynicism today is showing through this post!

I hadn't thought of that....you may be right. Rats, must EVERYTHING have a down side?

^^

Just make sure you clean it every once and a while if stuff is able to get in back of the insert...
