Interior/Exterior Removing Hidden Storage Box
Removing Hidden Storage Box
Anyone know how to remove the "Hidden Storage Box" above the glove box?
I am running a power splitter from the cigarette lighter to the box and need to see if there is a pass-thru opening.
I believe there is and will cut a hole in the box and then run the wires.
Thanks for any help.

Here is a link to a thread where k6trm had removed it so that he could move his USB connector up there.

Thanks for the prompted reply.
I did something simular on my Acura TSX to install the XM Sat. (Drilled hole in back of dash opening).
I was looking for a easy (Right with Mini being so compact) to run the cables.
So to recap: remove all screws and facing or drill a hole and fish cables.
Update: After looking at the two post with pictures I decided on a "Blind" drilling of the left rear corner of the hidden box.
Was able to fish two lines from there. Now my SKIFI3 wires are all hidden and I have two spare lighter inputs for other devices.
I only plain on add one more device (Creative ZEN) and hardware anything else.

The good thing about these mods -- you only need to do it once. And the convenience to me of having the iPod live in the secret compartment has been well worth the effort.
Just working on the hidden compartment, you won't need to disassemble the left side of the car, only the right!
The right "A" pillar cover needs to come off first, and the right side vent, then the trim pieces. Look at the diagrams on the REALOEM site; they should help. ISTR most of the hardware is T10 Torx. I have a small right-angle driver good for getting into tight places that has come in very handy.
